BLM Grassroots Memphis is an abolition chapter dedicated to creating change through grassroots efforts. Our mission is to advocate for social justice, equality, and the end of systemic racism. We are committed to providing a platform for marginalized voices and promoting meaningful dialogue to drive impactful action within our community. We aim to take a lead role in educating people of color of their rights, and how to utilize those rights for their protection. In addition, we want to foster a spirit of community and entrepreneurship. Educated our community on the importance of ownership and self-reliance.  We want to emphasize how “building our own” helps create more opportunity and a brighter future and is a direct path to liberation.

Black Lives Matter Grassroots is committed to resourcing and supporting our grassroots local work to ensure that our movement thrives. In our grassroots organizing work, we commit to participating in and leading activities including initiating and engaging in moments of collective action, protest and celebration that empowers a collective leadership structure. We commit to engaging in the ongoing work of Black liberation and support our collective efforts to secure Black freedom. At BLM Grassroots Memphis, we are driven by the support and engagement of our community members. We strive to keep our supporters informed about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved in our initiatives.
